The Doll House: GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN

Amy Winehouse was a British music sensation, an incredibly talented song writer, and quite frankly one of a kind. She was mostly known for her musical talent but she was also a fashion icon, she had a unique style and broke boundaries. Whilst we sit and listen to "Back to black" and "You know I'm no good" we look back on Amy's fashion forward outfits and quirky style, and we sincerely hope that she rests in peace.

Winehouse was well known for her signature beehive up-do hairstyle and her thick black eyeliner; a look she well and truly made her own. Many have tried to imitate, but no one can pull it off quite like Amy.

In 2010 she designed her own clothing range for Fred Perry. Speaking to Glamour magazine she said: "The collection I have done is so classic, because their style and my style are pretty much the same. Fred Perry is my be all and end all. I've always loved it, always worn it, and it feels like a living dream."

This may have been Amy's first fashion collection however in 2008 Guess revealed that Amy was the inspiration behind the latest look for their collection at the time. The company hired an Australian model called Nicole Trufino and her rep stated that she "mimics the singer's iconic thick black eyeliner and infamous beehive, adding a little rock and roll to their pin-up image."

It seems Amy very much had her own fashion fan club, many have imitated her style in fashion shoots and expressed their admiration for the "Tears dry on their own" singer. One of our very own modern fashion greats, Victoria Beckham, is one of her many fans. "She had a real sense of style that I just love. She's very much a fashion icon and I adore what she wears. She's so unique and original," she said.
