SHOPPING MAKES YOU LIVE LONGER

Finally an excuse to go shopping that no-one can argue with...

A ten year study conducted by scientists in Taiwan has concluded that shopping every day can make you live longer.

The research consisted of analysing the shopping habits of 1,850 people aged 65 and over, all of whom had taken part in a national health survey.

Researchers concluded that those who shopped almost every day were approximately 25% less likely to pass away within the ten year study period, compared to those who never shop or do so less than once a week. They believe this could be because shopping is a fun, convenient, and sociable way of getting exercise. "Shopping is often for pleasure with the potential to increase psychological well being," the researchers conclude in the Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health. "Compared to other types of leisure-time physical activity, like formal exercise, which usually requires motivation and sometimes professional instruction, shopping activity is easier to undertake and maintain."

So there you have it dolls; shopping is the key to a long life!
